Contributing Creatively

We invite you to become a friend of the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra and help us to continue our mission as a community not-for-profit orchestra that offers first-class concerts for your family. We also provide a platform to support professional and aspiring soloists, touch new audiences and neighborhoods with outreach programs, and motivate area children with educational events in our local schools.

The SPO welcomes your support in a number of ways to enrich our community and share in the gift of music.Your contributions of products and services, and the volunteering of your time or talent is also greatly appreciated.

Making and Matching Donations

The Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra is a not-for-profit membership that gratefully accepts individual and corporate contributions to promote a healthy artistic community in the Greater Seattle area.

SPO ticket sales and membership dues account for only a modest percent of our expenses, which include management of the music library, outreach education, rehearsal and performance venue rental, staging systems and equipment, published materials, and professional soloists. Acknowledgement certificates are available if your donation is a celebration gift or a tribute for recognition.

If your employer provides matching grants for employee donations, you can significantly increase the value of your gift by applying for the match through your company. We are proud to share the gift of music with our business friends at Microsoft, Boeing, SAFECO, Adobe, Coldwell Banker Bain and other area companies.

Nico Snel Memorial Library

The Nico Snel Memorial Library was established in memory of SPO Conductor Nico Snel (1934-2003), who served as Music Director of the SPO from 1979 through 1995.

Reflecting the wishes of those who knew and respected Nico, the memorial library provides a means for Nico's friends and loved ones to provide a tangible expression of regard for this benevolent, gentlemanly human being — a man who so very eloquently shared his love for music, and who cared for each of us personally and as musicians over many years.

You may make a contribution to the Nico Snel Memorial Library that will purchase some of his favorite music, including such works as:

Beethoven Symphony #2, Symphony #3 (Eroica), Symphony #6 (Pastoral)
Haydn Symphony #100 (Military), Symphony #101 (Clock)
Mozart Piano Concerto #24, Symphony #39
Schubert Symphony #8 (Unfinished)
Vaughan Williams Norfolk Rhapsody #1

Your contribution will be dedicated to the composition of your choice. You may request a complete wish list or further information by writing to NSML@seattlephil.com. When the SPO or another organization performs one of these pieces, the program will contain the following citation:

<Title of Work> is provided courtesy of the Nico Snel Memorial Library, gift of <Your Name>.

Company matches are welcomed.
